Families preparing for Bar/Bat Mitzvah are invited to join in Shabbat morning service and stay for breakfast and an hour of study specifically geared to B’nai Mitzvah families. This is a very special community-within-our-community. It gives students and parents an opportunity to learn with one another and with our rabbis and cantor. It opens up the weekly saga of the Torah reading and gives students an opportunity to participate in Torah interpretation. It furthers understanding of the rhythm of synagogue life on Shabbat morning, which is something any Bar/Bat Mitzvah should know, and it is a lot of fun.
The Shabbat morning early service begins at 8:30 a.m. in the sanctuary. After the service, the B’nai Mitzvah students and parents adjourn to the “open space” for the study session.
