Director of Education - Aviva Scheur

My commitment to Jewish education is rooted in the belief that each of us is created b’tzelem elohim (in the image of G-d). I believe that education involves (to paraphrase the Piasczner Rebbe) unlocking the potential in every person, to actualize the hidden sparks within her. My goal is to ignite the souls of students and to provide them with a carefully crafted education- one that empowers them to learn about and embrace our traditions, strengthen their Jewish identities, grapple with religious questions, and to embrace the interests of the community- of our Temple, of the Jewish people, of Israel, and of the world. I hope to engender a culture of engagement and joy, in which students are growing ethically, spiritually, academically, and creatively.

I feel honored to be part the Temple Shir Tikva family. I'm passionate about inspiring our next generation to embrace Judaism, and working with the wonderful teachers, parents and temple community to make that possible.

School information, including calendar, class assignments and other important information will be mailed in early September to families of all registered children.

Please encourage your friends to join our temple have their children participate in our wonderful school.

My door is always open and I would love to get to know you and to hear how I can help make your child’s Jewish education journey meaningful, joyous and successful.
